Megan Nutting has been an esthetician for years. She started behind the chair as an artist, worked her way up to buying Minx Beauty Studio in Milford, Ohio, and eventually switched the studio to a booth-rent model so the artists working there could run their own businesses.
Running both sides showed her the real gap: there was no central place for any of it. Artists found open chairs through Facebook groups and word of mouth. Owners filled their spaces the same way. Clients pieced together Google searches and referrals just to find someone to book. Everyone was looking for each other, with nowhere to meet.
So she built Gildra: one marketplace where artists find a space to rent, salon owners fill every chair, and clients find and book the right artist — all in one place. No subscriptions, ever.
